Your CV is a marketing tool that enables you to position yourself effectively in the job market. Your CV helps convince potential employers determine whether you have the right skills and experience for the role.

With several applicants for the same job, the employer will probably skim read when faced with a mountain of CVs. An employer should not have to read between the lines, or scan your CV for key words in order to decide whether to interview you. The more 'to the point' and concise your CV, the better chance you have of being short listed for the interview stage.

A CV is a personal document, there is no right or wrong layout, but if you follow the guidelines in the sections below you should be able to produce a document of a high enough standard to get you the interviews you want. We can help you make your CV stand out from the crowd.

It is advisable to include a personal profile of you, by highlighting your qualities; how you would describe your self and your objective, so that when interviews are conducted you are able to give a more accurate picture of you in advance

You should include details of your most recent employment first and then work in reverse order as to your employment history.
State your job title; dates and whether you are on a temporary or permanent contract,
Bullet points your duties and responsibilities and achievements which are relevant to your next job.

Finally include your Personal Details: National Insurance Number; Driving Licence etc. and your current residency status and Visa type (if obtained include expiry date).
   
  Keep your CV simple and yet functional for whatever the position you apply for.
